Walking in the desert is mostly through hard packed sand, but in some places the sand is soft. Basically, it is an easy area to walk around or you can choose not to. We don’t want you to miss the view of Pushwalla Canyon, so we recommend the overlook that is close by and an easy walk!

With reservations and pre arrival, you can order Pasta Primavera. You can also enjoy the sides of Cowboy BBQ Beans, Prarie Coleslaw and fresh bread. Sorry, we can’t accomodate a gluten free menu.

Transportation

Plenty of parking is available for your cars or for a group coach. If you require a shuttle or coach pickup for your group, please call us. We may be able to arrange transportation for an additional charge.

Preperation

Covered Wagons is located 3 1/2 miles from the Washington St exit and the 10 fwy in Palm Desert. It is accessible via a well-maintained gravel road and has free parking on-site for cars and buses. For general dinner tours, wagons roll about one and one-half hours before sunset. The tour returns to Camp just past sunset for dinner and entertainment. Payment is accepted online or on the day of the tour with advanced reservations. We accept all major credit cards or cash.

What to Bring

We recommend comfortable clothing for the weather. After the sun sets, the desert can get cooler quickly. Please being an extra layer. We also suggest closed toed shoes vs sandals or high heels. Don't forget your camera, you will have many photo opportunities and desert sunsets pictures that will last a lifetime!
