The Ranch

Positioned behind Palm Desert and at the front of Hidden Palms Preserve, Covered Wagons sits rising above the desert floor. Its unique, location offers unparalleled views of the Coachella Valley, San Jacinto Mountain Range, expansive sunsets, and twinkling lights of the valley below. Because it is part of the 32,000-acre Coachella Valley Preserve along the San Andreas Fault, there is a variety of pristine desert landscapes, and outdoor adventures that become the backdrop for your Greater Palm Springs group destination! Covered Wagons’ Ranch is not just a venue, it's a unique desert experience that will leave a lasting impression on your guests. With its rustic charm, cultural locale and breathtaking desert views, this hidden gem is the perfect setting for many occasions.

The Barn

Our desert barn is modeled after an early pioneer camp and is the centerpiece for most occasions. The antiquated relics, Navajo style rugs, chandeliers, wagon wheels, barrel tables, saloon bar and historic pictures offer you a rustic, cultural interior, unique to our American Southwestern locale and to Covered Wagons.

The rustic charm of the barn, combined with the vibrant energy of the music, sets the stage for an evening of laughter, joy, and celebration. An evening in the barn embraces the lifestyle and heritage of the American Desert Southwest, where history and celebration intertwine seamlessly.

The Sonoran Patio

Our expansive southwest facing, Sonoran Desert Patio, is positioned perfectly on the desert’s edge for dining and enjoying the great outdoors. Here, guests can safely admire the natural habitat and even catch a glimpse of coyotes while enjoying their evening serenades. With its picturesque backdrop of hills and mountains, breathtaking, full spectrum sunsets, enchanting desert lighting, desert bar, cozy fire pits, twinkling evening stars, and the sparkling lights of the city below, this patio keeps guests enjoying libations, music, and conversations all event long. Also, it is an ideal location for hosting an outdoor concert for your event, with ample space for a stage and dance floor.

The Adventure Tour

During your event, get ready for an extraordinary Covered Wagon Adventure like no other! You and your guests will have the option of a venture into a unique desert oasis wilderness preserve along the San Andreas Fault. Whether you prefer a shorter or longer experience, we can accommodate up to 42 guests on board per tour. You can even bring your favorite libations on board.

Departing from the Sonoran Patio, our tours run approximately every 30 minutes, so there's plenty of opportunities to hop on and enjoy the ride. We ride like the early pioneers but in comfort and sustainably with a very little footprint in this desert eco-system. If you're craving even more adventure, we offer longer tours that include nature walks or extended and guided group day hiking experiences to further explore this geological fault zone. Games

We have a variety of fun games available for your group to enjoy right here on the ranch property. You can try your hand at horseshoes, cornhole, simulated roping, giant Jenga, and giant Connect Four. In addition, we also can enhance your event with ping pong, shuffleboard, arcade games, and inflatable bronco bull riding.

Entertainment

We grew up in a family of professional singers and musicians in Los Angeles, so we have a deep appreciation for quality entertainment. Our house band, led by recording artist, John Malcolm Penn performs originals and the best choice of standards in the genre of Country Western, Bluegrass, American Folk, and Cowboy Classics. They are truly exceptional musicians, and they also offer line dance lessons and our own style of Barn Dance! If you have a specific style of music in mind, our event planners can assist you in hiring professional musicians and bands who specialize in different music genres.

Furthermore, we can provide a wide range of other entertainment options to make your event even more memorable. This includes Native American performances, exciting wild west shows, captivating roping demonstrations, mesmerizing star gazing sessions led by experts, thrilling acrobatic and aerial shows, and the option to have DJs or dance bands entertain you and your guests throughout the evening. There are no noise restrictions or time constraints to worry about here!

Catering

Indulge in delectable cuisine crafted by our talented catering team, who take pride in using culinary traditions of the Southwest. Our BBQ menu is packed with mouthwatering chuckwagon-style BBQ options that are outstanding!

Additionally, we have established strong partnerships with some of the finest caterers in the valley, enabling us to offer an extensive range of menus and services to suit your preferences. If you prefer to bring your own catering, we do allow it if it is approved in advance.

Pair your meal with a selection of fine wines, craft beers, or signature cocktails with your choice of recommended and licensed bar services purveyors. We offer two unique bar locations, inside the barn, “The Saloon Bar” and outside on the Sonoran Patio, “Desert Bar”.
